I don't even know where to start. I'm just smitten with the opal in this ring. It gives off a wide range of flashing rainbow colors, and has a translucence that is reminiscent of Opalite.
The ring is a split shank, which allows for the secureness of a bezel, while letting as much light in as a prong setting, in order to highlight the stone.
On either side of the opal, I have inlaid crushed obsidian. I love how the dark gray translucence of the obsidian contrasts with the white translucence of the opal.
This would make a great opal engagement ring, or milestone gift to anyone (including yourself ;))
Please keep in mind, because of the opal and the inlay, I do not have the equipment necessary to size this ring. It must be taken to someone who specializes in jewelry repair for sizing.
